X-Mas

Image
Been on the water today for just about an hour or so. Nice side-onshore conditions in Fos. They announced a lot of wind but in the end I was a bit underpowered on my 3.7. Still great. My second Christmas surf in a row. This time last year I was happy to be in South Africa. Sailed Elandsbaai with a good swell. So merry Christmas to everybody who reads this. RRD and Rock-n-Rohwurst are sending you the best wishes as well:

Tarifa

I went on a trip to Tarifa a couple of weeks ago. Had some good sessions in Levante winds. A full report about the trip can be found on windsurfersmag.de . (German language) More reports soon on our website rock-n-rohwurst.de

Winter Winds

Image
With christmas approaching and the many big wave photos from Hawaii popping up, it is time to realise that winter is here to stay. For windsurfers in most parts of Europe this means getting out your 5/3s, booties, gloves and hoodies. Yet, for most uf us this also means more wind, bigger waves and crazy sessions with just you and a couple of friends around. I am lucky to spend the winter in Southern France, one of the more temperate European regions. Despite the lack of consistent swell I usually get in three to five windsurf sessions a week, mainly freestyle. So here's one of them when I sailed my new 4.5 RRD SuperStyle and the 90l TwinTip: Ponch by Mathias in Le Brusc from Johannes Neumann on Vimeo .
