Last Friday afternoon was just a perfect start to the weekend with strong winds at my homespot. Upon arrival, we were greated with heavy rain and gusty winds, which seems to be a regular weather pattern this summer. However, conditions kept improving and we even got some sunny spells later in the evening, which made for some perfect light for taking photos. Alex Zachen from balance photography took some great shots. Check out his website.
I am also testing some prototype sails for the new Sailloft Quad. All I can say so far is that I am amazed by their balanced feel and responsiveness. They are now so light in your hands and even easier to duck. Check out the photos and a short clip: quad-test from Mathias Genkel on Vimeo.
An autumn weekend spent outdoors, up in the north dicovering new places...
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a beautiful view of an unspoiled bay. The spot looked like an utopian ideal of a surf spot. However, it turned out to be quite tricky to sail with inconsistent, weak low-period wind waves and a very shallow and sharp reef. Let's see what this region has to offer on a better forecast.
