magic day on the water

Image
What foiling is all about is this: When there is not enough wind for windsurfing, you just jump on the foil on your biggest freestyle sail and feel the lightness of being. You do not need a big and very expensive slalom sail. A smaller sail will make it a lot easier to pump yourself on the plane. A board equipped with a foil is already heavy enough on the beach. So do not stress yourself with a large sail. I was just using a 5.2 Sailloft Air today and got on the plane in very low winds. Once airborne and flying on the foil, the world around you becomes so silent. You hover above the water and you can feel this perfect connection to the elements. It's a change of perspective - a different perspective on life. Something that everyone needs every once in a while...

Short Trip to Fuerteventura

Image
Training freestyle in Fuerte for just over a week really motivated me to push my level. This was a very spontaneous trip that ended as fast as it had started, with a broken board. Here is a picture from one of the better evening sessions in the lagoon. What I like about it is that the holiday homes in the background seem so close. The photo captures that perfect moment during a burner when you hoover over your gear. Shot by S.Timm.
